Engine mapping and rolling road tuning

Based in Runcorn, Cheshire, we are specialists in engine management installation and mapping.

Working only with standalone engine management systems like DTA, Omex, Adaptronic, Emerald amongst MANY others we specialise in providing accurate calibrations to give you a tune that yeilds crisp response, road manners, fuel ecconomy (where possible!) and, most importantly, optimal performance.

The bulk of our work is done on our own 2WD SuperFlow chassis dyno (rolling road) which is capable of holding 750 HP in steady-state and accurately measuring up to 1100 HP in transient (acceleration) power run modes. Realistically though, the limitation of what the dyno can hold is governed by how well we can make the car "stick" to the rollers. Thankfully, we have a few tricks up our sleeves to prevent this from being a regular problem. Typically, 550-650hp from a 2L 16v is not a problem. More is possible if the engine's torque output is long and gradual (read "high RPM, race engine"). Sometimes the threshold is less if the engine likes to make a lot of torque at lower speeds.

We cater for all types of petrol engine. We can tune normally aspirated or forced induction engines. Specialising in turbo charged applications, we can accurately monitor and record air:fuel ratio, boost pressure, engine knock (detonation), charge temperature and exhaust gas temperature amongst other paramaters. Forced induction tuning requires a much greater awareness of these paramaters compared with naturally aspirated tuning. Being able to find the safe working limits of an engine is what sets apart an OK map from a GOOD map.

We can complete a full tune of most standalone engine management systems within one day.
This service costs £280 and is a fixed price for a day spent tuning.

Modification or fine tuning of an existing map is charged at an hourly rate, currently £50 /hr with a max. charge of £280 per day.

During these times multiple power runs or static tests can be performed to indicate changes or improvements in the tune.
